At the majority of women menstruation unfolds with cramps. For some of them the pain is supportable, but for others it is a terrible suffering. Menstrual cramps can create unpleasant problems, in some cases imposing you to stay at home and search for a remedy for them. The reason why women should appeal to home remedies is simple: they do not have side effects and they can really help.
1.Peppermint is considered to be effective in such cases. Massage your pelvic area with some peppermint oil. You can take a little bit internally, too, by adding it to your food or beverage. For example, prepare for yourself twice per day a cup of peppermint tea, or you can opt for some peppermint candies.
2.Basil is another plant, which is a popular pain killer. This herb can be added to your tea, or to your food while cooking. Basil tea is easy to do: just add some leaves in a cup of boiling water. Leave it to simmer for several minutes and then let it cool. If the pain is unbearable, sip some basil tea every half of hour.
3.Parsley is a miraculous plant for women suffering of menstrual cramps. Usually, it reduces heavy bleeding and, in this way, diminishes the pain.
4.Take a hot bath. You can also add one cup of baking soda and one of sea salt in your water, and relax in it for at least 15-20 minutes. Relaxation is known to be the best relieve for all types of pain, including that during menstruation.
5.Drink a lot of liquids to prevent dehydration, because it can worsen cramps. Especially, drink warm beverages, starting with herbal tea to hot lemonade. Even simple water it is advisable to be drunk warm.
6.Chamomile tea can also be beneficial. It is easy to prepare: put some water to boil; when it starts to boil, add some dried chamomile leaves to it (2 teaspoons of chamomile to 1 cup of water). Let it simmer for five minutes and strain the water. Sweeten your tea with honey or sugar.
7.Ginger is famous for its antiseptic property. That is why it is considered one of the best home remedy for menstrual cramps. You can prepare some ginger tea to ease your pain. For this, boil in a cup of water a piece of ginger for two minutes. Then, add sugar and drink it two or three times per day.
8.Warm drinks increase blood flow and relax muscles which provide relief from suffering.
9.Another way to get rid of menstrual cramps is to put a hot water bottle on the area of your stomach and abdomen for a period of time. Instead of a hot water bottle, you can use another alternatives such as a warm kitchen towel. But be attentive, the object which you apply on your problematic area must not be too hot.
10.Cinnamon is an effective anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic remedy. Add this spice to your beverages or food, to diminish the menstrual cramps.
Other food products which can help you get rid of menstruation cramps are ripe bananas, lemon juice, fennel seeds.
It is better to avoid caffeine, excessive salt and sugar, chocolate during menstruation. These products may intensify the pain.
